Letter from husband Benjamin, a First Lieutenant serving with the 10th Connecticut Volunteers stationed at Deep Bottom, Virginia, to his wife Abbie. He discussed problems obtaining a government horse (although less expensive, the government would take it back), and the resignation of Senator Salmon P. Chase, whom Wright respected. Benjamin lived in Greenwich, Connecticut.
